Every new solar farm, wind site, battery storage installation and EV charging hub needs step-up and distribution transformers — and they need them on the developer's timeline, not the interconnection queue's. Domestic supply is short and priced accordingly.
ShineV Electrical builds pad-mounted, dry-type and step-up transformers across our global production network. Configurations are built to your interconnection agreement's ratings and taps, coordinated from Albany, NY.
What buyers keep running into
The recurring pain across renewables & ev procurement.
- PPA and tax-credit deadlines don't wait — a slipped transformer delivery can miss the COD safe-harbor window.
- Interconnection utilities require unit-specific documentation before energization; missing test data means resubmission and delay.
- EV charging deployments hit distribution transformer capacity fast; upstream upgrades stack additional utility lead time.
- Pad-mounted and dry-type options for indoor and outdoor sites, factory-scheduled to your COD.
- Custom taps, K-factor and vector groups built to your interconnection agreement, with complete acceptance documentation.
- Lead times measured in weeks, not years — publish honest production milestones with each PO.
Typical scope for renewables & ev
Ratings, voltage classes and options we frequently deliver.
| Solar collector | 50 kVA – 5 MVA pad-mounted, medium-voltage secondary |
|---|---|
| Solar/wind step-up (GSU) | Up to 100 MVA, 34.5 / 69 / 138 / 230 kV |
| BESS interface | K-factor rated dry-type, PCS-compatible |
| DC fast-charging | 150–1000 kVA pad-mounted or dry-type |

Answers we give most often when the RFQ lands.
Can you build to a specific POI utility spec?
Yes. Send the interconnection agreement, single-line and any utility-specific requirements (taps, vector group, impedance range) with your RFQ. Our production facilities routinely build to POI-specific configurations.
What lead time can I plan around for a 5 MVA solar collector?
For standard 34.5 kV pad-mounted configurations, ~8–10 weeks production plus ocean transit. Custom designs add 2–4 weeks. We publish a milestone schedule with each PO so you can align with utility approval and COD.
Are your transformers eligible under Buy America / domestic content rules?
This is project-specific. Where domestic content is required for tax credits, we help identify the shortest domestic-eligible option, or supply the imported unit for portions of the project not gated by those rules. We do not misrepresent origin.
Do you support BESS integrators?
Yes — K-factor rated pad-mounted and dry-type units for PCS-side interconnection, sized to inverter/battery ratings. Send the PCS datasheet and site single-line for a sized proposal.
Send your interconnection spec — we'll return a compliant configuration and lead time.
A U.S.-based contact returns feasibility, DOE 2029 compliance path, price and a real lead time — usually within 24 hours.
