Frequently Asked QuestionsStraight answers to the questions we hear most.
Where is ShineV based?
ShineV Electrical Limited is headquartered at 418 Broadway, Albany, New York. We are a U.S.-registered company that handles all commercial operations — quoting, project management, logistics, and after-sale service — from our New York office. Our production facilities are located globally, allowing us to serve the U.S. market with competitive lead times.
Where are your transformers manufactured?
We operate through a network of production facilities across multiple countries. Each facility is ISO 9001 certified, KEMA or TÜV type-tested, and audited by our quality team before any unit ships under the ShineV name. This distributed production model allows us to match each project to the facility best equipped for that voltage class, rating, and delivery window.
How do you ensure quality across multiple production sites?
Three layers: (1) Facility qualification — we only produce at plants holding international third-party certifications with a proven track record in regulated export markets. (2) In-process inspection — our QC team monitors production milestones and witnesses final testing on-site. (3) Independent lab reports — every unit ships with test documentation from CTQC, KEMA, or TÜV Rheinland covering routine, type, and special tests. Reports are provided to you before shipment.
What are your typical lead times?
Weeks for standard distribution-class units in our regular production rotation. For custom-engineered power transformers (69 kV and above), expect 16–24 weeks depending on rating and complexity. Compare that to the 100–150 week backlog currently reported by many domestic OEMs for similar equipment. We return a project-specific timeline within 48 hours of receiving your spec sheet.
Are your transformers DOE 2029 compliant?
Yes — units can be specified and built to meet DOE 2029 efficiency levels (10 CFR Part 431). We provide efficiency test documentation and a compliance statement for your engineering review. Our production facilities already build to stringent international efficiency mandates, so meeting DOE 2029 is standard engineering practice, not a redesign.
How does pricing compare to domestic alternatives?
Our global production model typically delivers 20–40% savings versus comparable domestic quotes for the same voltage class and rating — with freight, duty, and service fees included. We provide a transparent landed-cost breakdown so you can compare directly. The exact savings depend on kVA rating, complexity, and current commodity pricing.
What standards do your transformers meet?
IEEE C57 (U.S.) and IEC 60076 (international) are the baseline for every unit. We also build to ANSI, CSA, NEC, NEMA, and DOE efficiency standards as required. If your project requires compliance with a specific utility engineering spec or state-level code (e.g., California Title 20), include it in your RFQ — our engineering team will confirm compliance scope before quoting.
What happens after delivery — warranty and service?
ShineV is your single point of contact for warranty claims, spare parts, and field service coordination in the U.S. Standard warranty is per contract terms — typically 18 months from delivery or 12 months from energization, whichever comes first. Extended warranty and preventive maintenance agreements are available. You deal with one U.S. company, not an overseas factory.
Can I visit a production facility before placing an order?
Yes. We arrange facility visits for qualified buyers — including plant tours, engineering team meetings, and witness testing if your unit is already in production. We handle all logistics and scheduling. Most buyers find that seeing the production floor and QC process first-hand resolves any remaining questions about build quality.
What information do you need to provide a quote?
At minimum: kVA/MVA rating, primary and secondary voltage, frequency (60 Hz for U.S.), applicable standard (IEEE or IEC), and delivery location. A one-line diagram or full specification sheet accelerates the process significantly. We return a budgetary quote within 24 hours.
